As a life strategist, empowHERment coach, talk therapist, speaker, and author, I see how everything in life is connected by our relationships. Whether it’s your money, family, health, friendships, or entrepreneurship...it all depends on how you relate to yourself and others. In my latest video, I’m revealing one of my own most common relationship mistakes we make. It’s something so many of us do without realizing, and it can lead to disappointment, frustration, resentment, and even anger. I want to help you recognize it and shift your perspective so you can protect your peace, your energy, and your heart. Review the below YouTube video or listen to the audio podcast. Repetition is the key to transforming your thinking.
As babies, we didn’t need words—when we cried, someone came. When we fussed, someone fed us. We were cared for without having to explain a thing. But here’s the grown-up truth: no one can read your mind now. You have a voice. You have wisdom. Use it.
Too many of us are still waiting to be rescued, soothed, or understood without speaking up. That silence? It leads to frustration and unmet expectations.
Stop assuming people just know. Give yourself permission to ask, express, and advocate for what you need.
Unspoken expectations = pain. People can’t follow a script you never gave them.
Are you feeling disappointed or resentful because you gave your body, time, skills,
trust, effort, ideas, connections, service, or loaned them money, and now
they have disrespected you? Be honest—have you actually shared what you want or need in that relationship or situation? Or are you expecting them to read your mind?
Revisit the YouTube or podcast episode. Let it sink in. Repetition brings transformation.
