I like the creativity of putting the 2 words blended together (called a portmanteau) ...brutal and beautiful = brutifull. In life we will experience joy and pain, sunshine and rain, struggles and sunny days... and yes, life can seem brutal and beautiful. How are you regulating your emotions? Are you in a constant flight, fight, fear, flow, or a faith state of mind?
Taking care of our emotional health is essential for leading a fulfilling and balanced life. It allows us to navigate challenges, cultivate positive relationships, and maintain both our mental and physical well-being.
Your emotional state can greatly cloud your decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills. Emotional health enables us to think more clearly, make rational choices, and effectively address challenges. When you are able to regulate your emotions you reduce the likelihood of making impulsive or regrettable decisions.
I wrote the book "ShiFT Happens" because I learned how important is to have the ability to bounce back from adversity and cope with life's challenges. Losing my mother and son to cancer was the most difficult and painful time to hold onto my sanity. I thank God for the grace, faith, and emotional awareness tools that gave me peace beyond my human understanding. When we are emotionally healthy, we are better equipped to handle setbacks, stressors, and difficult situations, allowing us to adapt and thrive in the face of adversity. Gospel artist Jonathan McReynold's lyrics encourage me in his song that sometimes being strong is overrated. In our human experience, we can get tired, frustrated, and want to give up. Sometimes the "S" on your chest is not for the word "strong" but "stress". In times of weakness, you may NOT feel strong and NOT be able to depend on people. In your weakness, you learn to depend on the supernatural power of God to get through the dark times. May your faith and relationship with God strengthen you. May you learn to build up your emotional intelligence to outsmart the distractions, traps, and enemies of your joy, peace, and destiny. Promise yourself you won't let the hard days win. I offer my experience as a coaching /counseling resource to you to gain coping skills to shield yourself against feelings of defeat, depression, doubt, and disappointment. You have to be ready and hopeful. You must feel worthy of healing. One day you will thank yourself for not giving up. Ready, set, grow! Stay in the light."
