Iron sharpens iron

Updated: Sep 12, 2022

I am so excited to receive guests for our Annual Women on the Grow Malibu reTREAT coming from Virginia, Maryland, New York, Washington D. C., Atlanta, Michigan, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Sacramento, Oakland, Lake Elsimore, and surrounding Los Angeles cities September 21-23, 2022. Thank you Lord for the support, strength, love, prayers, and the opportunity to serve these amazing women with hospitality, fun, empowerment, relaxation, connections, and an unforgettable experience of sisterhood and joy.

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow and exhaustion. Let reality be reality. Life comes down to choice and control. Focus on the things in your life that you still have control over to increase your resilience, sanity, and peace. Your mind and body needs to process stressful events. Don't wait until you're in a battle to fight off

the enemy. A soldier doesn't go into battle with an empty gun or a dull knife. They have the right equipment, leadership, testing and training for battle. Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). If you are surrounded by the right people, they can add to your life, sharpen your thinking, and empower you to shine. Iron type people can sharpen you for battle. They enrich your faith, joy, stamina, coping skills, hope, courage, confidence, capacity, and clarity. There is power in proximity when you intentionally align yourself with "iron sharpening people". But if you are surrounded by butter knife type people (i.e. people who are not strong, helpful, wise, caring, trained, or focused) you will not grow. A butter knife is dull. It doesn't have the capacity to cut through tough things. Butter knife type people can't help you survive the unwelcomed, unexpected, and unpleasant vissitudes of life. We need close relationships with other people we trust and respect – to give them the consent to identify weak areas of our lives and then to address those areas with us. This is not just giving anyone the permission to go around with a critical and negative attitude that delights in pointing out the faults of others. The principle of accountability must mean that helpful and real conversations grow out of growing, loving, and constructive relationships.

It's critical to your well-being and success to develop physical hardiness/health, good sleep, emotional equilibrium/wellness/, mental/emotional clarity, spiritual faith/stamina, financial intelligence, and loving relationships and strong social connections. This was my recent message during my weekly master class "The Diamond INNERversity." Remember, it remains open to you each week to attend on Sundays, 3:00 pm(Pacific)...6:00 PM (Eastern).
